The Experimental Aircraft Association’s Vintage Aircraft Association is dedicated to civilian aircraft designs constructed before 1971. The airplanes (many of which are immaculate and show the pride of their dedicated owners) fall into three categories:
Antique aircraft constructed before August 31, 1945
Classic aircraft constructed from September 1,1945 through December 31, 1955
Contemporary aircraft constructed from January 1,1956 through December 31, 1970
Below is a fast look at just some of the names and makes of the aircraft which were in attendance on the Vintage Aircraft Association’s grounds during the EAA’s 2024 AirVenture Oshkosh. The year of manufacture is in front of the make and model. Note that every one of these planes were made more than 50 years ago – that’s at least half a century!
